Dry Needling
Dry Needling involves inserting fine acupuncture needles into tight myofascial areas known as ‘Trigger Points’ to initiate a healing response. It can be a very powerful way of reducing spasm in muscles, reducing pain and inflammation.
Dry Needling is different to traditional chinese acupuncture. Traditional acupuncture maps internal organs to body parts, and focuses on energy points called meridians, where dry needling targets specific muscular points.
Balance & Dizziness
Throughout their lifetime, many people have problems with their vestiibular organs (in the inner ear). This can result in dizziness, vertigo, balance problems and other symptoms. Examples of conditions that we are able to assist with are:
- Acoustic neuroma
- Age-related deterioration
- Benign paroxysmal position vertigo (BPPV)
- Cervicogenic dizziness
- Mirgraine-associated vertigo (MAV)
- Meniere’s disease
- Vestibular neuritis
We can assess your balance, and the function of your vestibular system and provide you with a program consisting of a range of head, eye and neck movements to re-educate the balance and visual system to help you overcome the dizziness and become more stable.
Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy uses a machine to deliver high-frequency shockwaves to the target tissue.
This non-invasive treatment is useful to treat persistent painful muscle and tendon conditions through targeted tissue loading and increased blood flow.
Shockwave therapy has proven beneficial in the treatment of:
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Achilles tendinopathy
- Tennis and Golfer’s elbow
- Myofascial pain sources
